Born in 1980, in Hamburg, Germany, I grew up in Munich, where I am currently Lecturer in Practical Philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy. I have studied political science, philosophy, theatre science, and law at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. Having received my PhD in 2011 with a dissertation in political philosophy, I have gone on to focus on philosophical pragmatism, theories of emotion, and animal studies. I am a member of Minding Animals Germany, and I am interested in how institutions can foster moral progress in the ways humans treat other animals.
