I am formally an academic (professor of International Relations and director of the Center for International Studies at the University of Oxford; previously at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Harvard PhD, Sciences-Po Master). I was even a wise man once upon a time! But I prefer to think of myself as a translator between worlds, across different languages and cultures across disciplinary boundary and between academia and the public sphere, and of course as a teacher, between generations and their ways of communicating. Hence my enthusiasm for this Twelve Stars initiative. While I have worked with many institutions and published on many subjects, I am currently obsessed with Brexit (as a Franco-Greek EU scholar living in the UK mother of 2 British kids). I am also working on three concepts that emerge from the EU but are relevant beyond: mutual recognition, demoicratic theory, and last but not least sustainainable integration, the focus of my theme in the adventure that occupies us here.
